** Daily Devotional * I AM WITH YOU! * December 4, 2013 * Walking with God **

I AM WITH YOU!

I will be with you
when you pass through the waters,
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not overwhelm you.
You will not be scorched
when you walk through the fire,
and the flame will not burn you.
Isaiah 43:2 (HCSB)

A person of great faith and strong in character is required to work through  adversity, failure, and disappointment. Many of us --seemingly strong--individuals eventually collapse under our burdens.

The Lord did not promise me a trouble-free life, just because I chose to serve Him. However, He did promise to be there for me at all times, and to help me with  My life hurdles. Knowing that I do not have to tackle my afflictions of life on my own is a comforting and reassuring thought.

When problems mar my view and place pressure on me --I turn to Christ. He is my Heavenly companion. I overcome my problems in the peace of His Presence.

** Daily Devotional * BE STRONG * December 4, 2013 * Walking with God **

BE STRONG
Say to the cowardly: “Be strong; do not fear!
Here is your God; vengeance is coming.
Isaiah 35:4 (HCSB)
We all experience discouragement at some point in our lives. If you feel that your dreams have been shattered and your efforts have come to nothing, do not allow self-pity to sow the seed of discouragement in your Spirit.
There are spiritual reserves from which you can draw that will give hope and a sense of purpose. Do not rely on your own sources of inspiration, because when these fail you will lose your vision and become discouraged.
God is your constant source of inspiration. Remember, you do not fight alone against negative feelings and emotions. God is on your side and He is waiting to pick you up so that you may proceed with joy and be ultimately triumphant.

** Daily Devotions * December 3, 2013 * Jesus Today My Version **

Sometimes God's Sovereign hand -- His control over My life --places  me in humbling circumstances. I feel held down, held back, and powerless to change things. I look to break free and feel in control of my life once again. Although this is an uncomfortable position, it is actually a good place to be. My discomfort awakens me from the slumber of routine and reminds me that He is in charge of my life. It also presents me with an important choice: I can lash out at my circumstances --resenting His ways with me --or I can draw closer to Him.

When I am suffering, my need for God is greater than ever. The more I choose to come near Him, the more I can find hope in His unfailing love. I can even learn to be joyful in hope while waiting in His Presence --where joy abounds. I persevere in trusting Him, and He will eventually lift me up. Meanwhile, I cast all my anxiety on Him, knowing that He cares for Me affectionately and is watching over me continually.

Many are the woes of the wicked, but
The Lord's unfailing love surrounds the
Man who trusts Him.
Psalm 32:10

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction
Faithful in prayer.
Romans 12:12

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's
mighty hand, that He may lift you up in
due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him
because He cares for you.
1 Peter 5:6-7

Walking with God

KINDNESS
A kind man benefits himself,
but a cruel man brings disaster on himself.
Proverbs 11:17 (HCSB)

Kindness, as it is used in the Bible means to be kind-hearted.
It is the good-naturedness of love. There are many Christians who are good people,
but who tend to be unkind and constantly critical of everything.
The kindness of love strives for fairness toward God and your fellow man.
In essence, faith requires loyalty and reliability and both are born from the love of God.
Kindness seeks only the best for your fellow man, regardless of what they must do. It discard all bitterness and thoughts of revenge and lives in peace with everyone.
Love that is kind must be a distinctive characteristic of Christ's followers.
Only then will we succeed in being His witness. Our kindness must be evident to all people;
they will then ask about our source of kindness and so find Jesus.

* * * Daily Scripture * THE PERFECT WAY * December 2, 2013 * Walk the Walk with Christ * * *

The Lord's strength and power surrounds me like a might army --an army that cannot be defeated. I don’t depend on my limited worldly abilities. He watches over me day and night. Wars and fighting may leave us feeling uncertainty. However, God is mightier than any army. He cares for us and will be there when we need Him. In times of doubt and fear, I remember, God is my strength and power.

God is my strong refuge;
He makes my way perfect.
2 Samuel 22:33

** Daily Devotions * FINDING JOY IN THE SMALL THINGS * November 30, 2013 **

Everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. 1 Timothy 4:4

Many of us tend to focus on what we don’t have. We take for granted ALL of the good things we have, and get to enjoy: freedom to do what we like, being healthy, alive, having all our limbs, or simply having food to nourish our body -- all of these things are often go unnoticed, or aren't given any consideration.

It is only when you begin to contemplate a life without these blessings that you realize, "Hey, maybe I'm not doing so bad!"

We should learn to appreciate even the smallest things…the sunrise in the morning; the chirping of the birds… the color of the world…  Can you imagine a world with no color? What about not having the ability to see? Or having the ability to read this super awesome post! ;-) Let's just say we are more blessed than we think!

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

Regardless of how bad things appear, God is greater than any situation.

Every day is a unique gift to you from God. What you make of it is your responsibility. The way in which you welcome each new day will depend on your frame of mind and attitude towards life.

Fortunately, your frame of mind is not something that you have to leave in the hands of fate or coincidence. God has given you the ability to choose your frame of mind, as well as the pace of your life. Meet every day with joy and expectation, and then you can live a happy and victorious life.

Jesus Lives
by Sarah Young

In God's Presence I have infinite approval. I often judge myself on the basis of what I see in the mirror, even though I know how fickle and shallow that ever-changing image is. I tend to be equally enslaved to viewing myself through the eyes of other people, rigorously evaluating my personal performance and almost always feeling displeased with something I've said or done.

"Enslaved" is the appropriate word. I am indeed a slave when I try to measure myself through any perspective but God's. evaluating my worth based on how I look, to myself and to others, is always a trap. It's as if I were sifting sand in a search for gold--looking only at the grains of sand filtering through the sieve, while ignoring the priceless nuggets that remain. The gold represents the eternal part of me: my soul. It is invisible to everyone but Him, the One who plans to spend eternity with me. Though, invisible, a well nurtured soul can actually improve my appearance. As I rest in the certainty of His unfailing Love, my face glows with the Light of His Presence.

His approval of Me is infinite because it will continue forever. It is based entirely on His righteousness, which is mine for all eternity. When I look in the mirror, I will try to see myself as I truly am --arrayed in perfect righteousness, adorned in glowing approval.

Satisfy us in the morning with Your faithful love
so that we may shout with joy and be glad all our days.[
Psalms 90:14 (HCSB)

You give him blessings forever;
You cheer him with joy in Your presence.
Psalms 21:6 (HCSB)

I greatly rejoice in the Lord,
I exult in my God;
for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation
and wrapped me in a robe of righteousness,
as a groom wears a turban
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Isaiah 61:10 (HCSB)
