The Lord will fight
for Me; I need only be still. He knows how weary I am, for I am His child. I
have been struggling just to keep my head above the water, and my strength is
running low. Now is the time for Me to stop striving and let God fight for Me. Though
this is not easy for me to do; and I feel as if I must keep struggling in order
to survive, He is calling me to rest in Him. He is working on My behalf; so I
need only be still and remember that He is God.
Quieting My body is
a somewhat challenging task, however stilling my mind seems downright
impossible. In my striving to feel secure, I rely too heavily on my own
thinking. My struggle to be in control has elevated my mind to a position of
autonomy. Therefore, I need the intervention of the Holy Spirit. I ask Spirit
to control my mind more and more --soothing me from the inside out as I take
the time to rest in the shadow of the Almighty while He fights for Me.
"Then He
replied, 'My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.' " Exodus 33:14
